  1. Quality Product Review by RL

This is a very well made product and the programming is very intuitive if you read the owners manual, which is short and to the point. I have used professional models when I was going through PT and this delivers the same result. The only knock on it would be the somewhat cryptic explanation of where to place the electrodes, exactly. (Posted on 11/11/11)

It helped me to recover after an arthroscopic surgery on my knee. My atrophied muscles (thighs) found their shape in about 2 months faster than my doctor expected. (Posted on 1/9/10)

    • The Compex Sport Elite & Performance US manuals are available in English, French and Spanish. Unfortunately, we do not use Paypal. The electrodes can be used depending on your skin type, between 15 and 30 times. Some 30 applications are possible on skin that is clean, lotion free, sweat free, non-greasy and shaved.

  • From Ed at 4/21/10 12:59 PM
    • Are there any long-term risks associated with muscle stimulation?
    • No. Muscular electrostimulation and electrotherapy in general have been practiced for many decades with no reported problems. Compex also holds an important liability policy.
  • From Blake at 5/27/10 11:11 AM
    • What's the difference between this muscle stimulator and a TEN's unit?
    • TENS the acronym for Transcutaneous Electrical Nerve Stimulation. A TENS unit is prescribed for both acute pain and chronic pain conditions and sends electrical impulses to certain parts of the body to block pain signals from being transmitted to the brain. It is used at the sensory level and does not cause muscle contraction.
Compex Muscle Stimulators (EMS) when used for strength training sends a signal to the motor nerve of the muscle causing it to contract and build muscle mass. The Active Recovery program uses specific low level frequencies to increase blood flow, remove lactic acid, release endorphins and promote muscle relaxation.
  • From Mike at 8/2/10 6:58 PM
    • Hi, I play basketball and i am wondering how many inches will i gain on my vertical? Also how long does it take for results?
    • The purpose of the Compex Sport Elite & Compex Sport Explosive Strength program is to increase the speed with which maximum muscle strength can be supplied. It is designed to improve performance in sporting activities of very brief duration such as jumps, sprints and throwing. You're vertical inch gain depends on your genetics, how often you train and the intensity you train at. Results like any other strength training program can be seen in 4-8 weeks.

  • From DLT at 2/21/11 12:42 PM
    • My left knee has been bone-on-bone for over 30 years after two hockey injury surgeries (both MCLs snapped / cartilage removed). I walk two strong Huskies 3-4 miles a day up and down hills, and some days the pain is severe. I want to strengthen my quad to protect the joint better and if possible get some pain relief. I've considered an ARPwave treatment program. Which of your products might help? Also, are European models like mi-Fitness going to be available soon?
    • Hi,

Sorry to hear about your knee injury. The various strength programs found on Compex will help to build muscle mass as these programs contract the muscle. The Active Recovery program will help increase blood flow to the area, clear lactic acid, promote muscle relaxation and it also helps to release endorphins, which are your body's natural painkillers.

I hope this helps answer your question.

      Thank you

  • From Walter at 2/24/11 7:43 AM
    • What is the difference between sports elite and the Mi fitness? I need something as well for my pains..like teens....The sports elite will do that??
      Tkx a lot
      Walter
    • Hi Walter-

We do not sell the Mi Sport in the United States. A TENS unit is a bit different - it blocks the neuro receptors to help reduce pain. A muscle stimulator will not reduce pain, but it will help increase circulation and releases endorphins, which are your body's natural pain killers.

      Hope this helps

  • From Alex at 7/22/11 4:55 AM
    • Can you use Muscular elektrostimulation during treatment and recovery from injuries: sprains and torn ligaments, fractures, and others to maintain and restore muscle
    • HI Alex-
Compex will help to build and strenghten muscles and the recovery programs will help to increase blood flow and circulation, release endorphins (which are your body's natural pain killer) and will help to promote overall muscle relaxation.

I hope this answers your question.
